About Noel Coutts
A sailor, singer, songwriter, actor and poet, Noel Coutts comes from a Shetland Island seafaring heritage. He has six albums to his name and back in New Zealand they refer to him as a blues legend. In 2005 Noel packed up his belongings and began his seafearing, musical adventure.
Noel has maritime qualifications from Norway, Britain and New Zealand. And quite a few more from the school of life. These days he sails around New Zealand on his fifty foot schooner, the Lady Sterling. You can learn more about this grand old boat on Noel's sailing page.
Living on a ship allows Noel to indulge himself and live his dream of being a travelling minstrel. In recent times he's lived and played in New Zealand, London and Poland.
